Villagers are arranged within their respective sections in order of first move-in. For the full timeline, see the "Notes" tab.
These villagers are the "canon residents" of Everbloom, as far as lore is concerned. They live on the island and work there as hosts in the Everbloom canon. But in reality, I swap out my villagers every now and then (via Amiibo or naturally) to keep things interesting and get a feel for different island dynamics!
wears his smile on his face!: snake is naturally boisterous and impulsive, but also very good-natured and genuine, so everyone takes it in stride. he's transparent – when he feels something, you know it – but also quick to get over things. he’s the kind of guy you forget has his own interiority, because he just seems like a nice sporty guy with not many complex thoughts – not dumb, but straightforward. i’d compare his personality to nishinoya from haikyuu and dewey from ducktales (2017).
vs. other jocks: he’s less universally agreeable than mr. congeniality kid cat, but more outgoing and friendly than sometimes-shy genji. he's the most conventionally boyish/masc in terms of his interests and personality.
carmen: snake and carmen are childhood friends and get along like really close siblings, and she’s probably why he’s not as bro-y as he could be. when they both live on everbloom at the same time, he’s always at her place. she also moved in shortly after he did so she probably got the island life idea from snake.
other pals: besides carmen, he gets along best with genji, who is like the blue oni to his red oni (despite them both being pretty similar when you put them against everyone in everbloom) and raymond, my dummiest smug.
seriously, SO friendly: it's been a while since he's lived on my island, but i port him back in through amiibo every now and then to change things up, and he always gets along well with the others (hence the personality i gave him)!
more:
beautiful enigma: beau is sweet, pretty, and polite. he comes off a little spacey, but there are hidden depths to that far-off look – though you can't always tell what he's thinking, no matter how long you've known him. he's a bit distant with new people, but warm, caring, and playful with his friends! i imagine him as someone like mikachin from chocomimi.
the evolution of beau: a lot of his personality was shaped by how he behaved in-game the three times i invited him to my island. beau was one of my first five villagers and socialized a lot with the others – his friends on everbloom are my other early villagers, like carmen, kidd, lopez, and pashmina.
but unlike snake, after he came back the second time around (i had to move him out because his house was still the basic lazy one) he spent a lot of time by himself. the third move-in was a bit better, but he was still nowhere near as social as he was the first time. it makes for an interesting kind of character, i think!
friendships: i think beau and pashmina were close, and her leaving at the start of this second stint of his is what i attribute that sad phase to, lol. she was like the big sister he never had, and he could fully lean into his lazy villager side with her!
a capable adult: while he is a lazy villager, beau is the eldest of eight (canonically!) and has been in the AC games much longer than my other lazy, sherb, so i actually headcanon him as doing pretty okay for himself. he ends up becoming a big brother-ish figure for sherb, but he doesn't mind it. (he's kind of glad to have made a new friend.)
more:
coolest guy in town: lopez is fashionable, personable, and naturally charismatic. you might think he's pretentious because of his taste in things, but he isn't putting anything on – that's sincerely what he likes. he likes to talk a lot, but he'll listen, too!
irresistible charm: lopez was my first campsite villager. having already had a smug favorite, i was kind of disappointed at first, but i very quickly fell in love with lopez. he somehow managed to pull out a lot of the sweet smug dialogue, was always watering plants and wanting to talk, and gave me the react where he also yells out "i love youuuu" LOL. i had to keep him!
vs. other smugs: lopez has the most universally "likable" personality of my smugs. raymond is kind of a dummy, marshal can be polarizing, kidd is awkward (and colton is a little out of touch). lopez is well-read and likes to learn what he can from conversations with different people – a more thoughtful, less aggro extrovert than marshal.
city boy: he's a big city guy who's moved to the island as like a fun enriching life experience, but ended up really liking it and stayed. he's slightly well-to-do and his tastes reveal that, but he generally can vibe with the simpler things in life. still, he's lucky he ended up on a developed island like everbloom and not a more rural, slow life one.
his one blind spot: genji has a crush on lopez, but lopez has no clue. they hang out a lot, and lopez likes to get close and hold hands while they talk, but that's just good ol' platonic affection between men in lopez's mind. (cultured city boys are something else...) but it's fine—when genji gets around to confessing, lopez will process everything quickly and take to being boyfriends like it's nothing, probably.
more:
#1 for a reason: kid cat is THE best boy. he's given me wasp sting medicine on more than one occasion, compliments outfits and island changes, and is well-liked by the other villagers. he's just an overall good dude who can talk to anyone. he's great at his sport too!
everyone's big brother: not really – kid cat is just above the midpoint of my headcanon everbloom ages, but is the most reliable of my villagers. when no one else in charge is around, he's the one they go to for advice or if something's gone wrong. maybe it's because he's the most likely to respond gently? (he's also the eldest among his siblings, so he must have some experience!)
jock senpai: less so to snake, more so to genji. genji sees kid cat as someone to look up to (both in physical ability and overall demeanor / attitude / values), which kid cat finds endearing/flattering. he doesn't take it too seriously, because genji should be his own kind of guy, but he'll mentor him or look out for him a little more.
vs. other jocks: like lopez with the smugs, kid cat is the easiest to get along with of the jocks, contrasting snake's eager forthrightness and genji's sweet shyness. he's patient and diplomatic with most personalities – just a good natured guy.
kidcarmen: carmen had two jock bunnies to choose from and she chose the cat. from the beginning these two have ALWAYS been hanging in the same area, like i've just caught them on a date! they're honestly a super cute power couple – the super-cute cheerleader and the heartthrob quarterback.
more:
a dummy in glasses: i know raymond is often portrayed as smart and cool, or at least coolfail, but my raymond is just a dummy. i've gone so far as to give him a little jester's cap. i forget why this personality came to be – i think he just kept getting sick or having silly conversations with chief and the normal villagers. but he's a sweet, dumb boy with focus issues and a big heart. the glasses are only because he can't see well.
vs. other smugs: raymond is the goofiest and least pretentious of my smugs. he gets all the silly aspects of being a smug and none of the high culture. he is also the youngest and, consequently, the sweetest.
flower boy: this cat loves nature. he's always in the more rural areas of the island where he can study flowers, and i've caught him at the museum more often than anyone else. he likes the pretty pictures in the nature books :)
dumb blonds: he and marshal are both very popular ikemen-type villagers, but they're tweedledee and tweedledum on everbloom. they're naturally pretty, but always talking nonsense or up to some goofy shenanigans, a la the anime "daily lives of high school boys". they're something like troy and abed, or mordecai and rigby.
in boxes: i never intended on selling raymond, and i didn't get him that way either! i picked him up from a friend who'd gotten him on her all-wolf island. i didn't plan on keeping him, and was waiting for him to move out so he could go to my best friend's. but between his move-in day and the first time he asked to move out, i fell in love with the stupid cat and my best friend stopped playing acnh. everything worked out!
more:
screaming goat: this purple goat tries to look cool and collected but is screaming on the inside. he grew up a shy kid and a lot of that social anxiety just carried over, but he carries himself a lot better now. he's a little awkward/strange, in the way people with niche hobbies are, but is so sweet once you learn how to speak his language.
vs. other smugs: kidd is the most introverted of my smugs. he spends a lot of time at his house, and talks to the others more rarely than my other smugs. however, he spends a lot of time with the ones he does like – lopez is always at his place, and he's always asking to come over to mine.
chronically online: he can cosplay as normie well enough (especially at work), but he's a child of the internet. his real sense of humor comes out when he's comfortable with you, which means a lot of the more normal everbloomites are subject to many a reference they do not get. still, they love him!
hobbyist: this is a goat of many hobbies. he likes photography first and foremost, but has gotten into game design, filmmaking, interior decoration, sudoku... he's not good at all of them, but always comes back to each one.
pen pals: kidd and mei (the character, not the me writing this) started out as internet pen pals. she wrote him saying she'd moved to an island, and it gave him the idea to say yes when someone invited him to do the same – turns out that someone was her, and neither of them knew :) they figured it out pretty quickly, and kidd was happy to have a friend on the island to rely on. (friend eventually evolves into crush, which complicates things...)
more:
sweet mochi: genji
vs. other jocks:
shy behind his rbf:
fashion: he is unexpectedly very fashion-forward. he's always at the able sisters' shop, and was enthusiastic about letting diana paint his nails. he's a lot more experimental than some of the smugs, even – though he doesn't realize this is not usual for guys like him.
lopez:
more:
begrudging patriarch:
the sole cranky:
girls' best friend: (he is a wolf but ygm) - gets along better with the girls
teen rebel:
music:
more:
chaos incarnate: "ya bastard"
social?: he hangs out with flick lmfao
carmen:
vs. other smugs:
full of secrets: knows everything
more:
not a thought behind those eyes:
family: rk, older sister (this might be two paragraphs i think...) help. he's like manny from diary of a wimpy kid but better
everyone's baby brother:
creature of comfort:

These are villagers who were on my island long enough to make an impact (have a personality come out, interact enough with the "main cast" for them to be considered important to the lore). I swap out some of my "main cast" villagers with them sometimes for variety's sake, or think about how they'd continue to be part of the lore.
she's the second oldest of the everbloom cast, and one of the originals, too! she's got a no-nonsense deadpan tone, but has a lot of unspoken affection for all her neighbors. always amused by what stupid shenanigans they get up to, and actively enjoys getting a front row seat – or even involved.
everyone really likes and looks up to her as the big sister of the group, but she's especially close to beau, snake, and carmen – the four of the original five who stuck around. she's also gotten close to chief, since she's closest to him in age.
i've not yet invited her back after she first moved out, but i imagine she comes back to visit everbloom every so often just to catch up with everyone and see the place. miss girl is busy.

Villagers I had who were cute and nice to have, but aren't really key players! Sorry. They're here anyway, just so I can honor them for having been on Everbloom at all. I've included short writeups on why they didn't stay.
Guys who have never lived on my island but are important somehow.
My friend Haley and I updated each other all the time on our island progress and lore and made something I like to call the Everway (Everbloom-Couriway) Exchange Program, where we imagine that our villagers interact.
Zell is my favorite of her villagers on her island, and I imagine he's good friends with Lopez, since they're both smug deer!
Roachy pretty boy. If I'd known him before finalizing the Everbloom cast, I might have put him on the list!
I did invite him to Brewster's once via Amiibo, so I like to imagine he applied for a hosting job and told him we'd keep him posted if a spot opened up. I might invite him to live on Everbloom one of these days, just for fun.
I decided to make her Diana's roommate on Happy Home Paradise for whatever reason, and now in my headcanon they are girlfriends.
Their aesthetics work really well together, and they have a cute little house on the beach with a spa on the first floor. I'm happy for them.
Everyone canon to Animal Crossing obviously works for the island, but these guys are the ones I have special lore about.
